AGP Graphics Card Recommendations

Been out of the graphics card loop for a while so i was after some recommendations for my lads computer.
His setup is:
AMD 2500+
Gigabyte 400 mobo
1gb pc 333 memory
Nvidia Geforce 4xxx graphics card.
He's moaning about the lack of performance of his Nvidia so i'm after a mid-range card that will outperform his current card.
Will a Radeon 9800pro/xt be a major jump up? or do you know of something better

Hi Dave,
About £100, i've been looking at a AGP version Nvidia 6600gt for just a tad over (£104)
As mentioned i'm not fussed new/secondhand/fleabay i just need somewhere to start.

Dont get a 6600 GT. Do a search for 6600 GT Freezing on the nvidia forums. Plenty of people experiencing problems with direct x games freezing intermittantly during games with no real solutions.

For not much more you can pick up a second hand 6800 / 6800 gt of ebay.

I went for one after all my 6600 GT freezing and all I can say is mmmmmm, games on full settings at max res with my 6800 Ultra.

Cheers m8ty this is what i need don't want to end up with a lemon will check out ebay although this will be the last resort i would prefer to buy from an etailer.
