Smile just bought a SE 550i

i have to say im very impressed with the phone right from the start.i have a d500 but to be honest im bored and needed a change and im not wasting my upgrade on anything but the nokia N80 (hurry up nokia) so i`d thought id have a look at what was about now that i could buy.

initially i was planning on the pebl but after holding one and seeing the fingerprints all over it after a few seconds that put me off slightly but what really put me off the pebl was the way it felt a bit feminine (imho) also there was stickers all over the phone warning you not to put it in your pocket you carry your credit cards around in as the flip uses magnets to hold it in place.and there was fingerprints (from myself) after only a brief skimming of the keypad (moto what are you using as materials?) but then my eye was taken by the 550i so off i popped back home to do some research.

anyway back to the 550i and back to the shop i went, now i know this is aimed at the younger side of the market and me being 30 i would have to say that from a none YOOTH aspect its a really nice phone.nice menu, reasonable camera, doesnt weigh a ton, screen is nice and the placing of the buttons is just right.there are also a lot of hotkeys on this phone and a lot more than im use to but dont let that put you off.i`ll write something a bit better when i get use to all the features and give some time for the initial honeymoon period to wear off.

SE W850i in Asia

There's an intermediate music phone between W800 and W900 called W850 - funnily enough !

There isn't a W850 model, at least not yet.

The W810 has only just been announced, and is aimed more at the US market. The UK/Europe don't use the EDGE network, probably won't either, as Europe is going 3G, not edge.

I took delivery of my W550 before christmas, and apart from one blip (resolved by the SEUSII service), its been perfect. Battery life is amazing, signal is superb, voice quality, on both the phone and via my HS810 is fantastic (can't fault it).

The main downsides are :
-the low light sensitivity sucking beyond belief, although I've gone and bought the MXE-60 flash unit, and I can now take reasonable pics in total darkness.
- the walkman player doesn't correctly recongise/categorise AAC files (the W800 does though, so its definitely a fault on the W550s player)
- low volume sound is blighted by background noise, and sometimes switching between tracks you get a loud "crack", which is pretty irritating.
