Raster Size And Picture Quality

If I run a cine7 with a raster size of 9cm instead of the maxium 11.5cm what will be the difference in picture quality be if any????

I know it will not do the tubes any good after running at this size for a given period. But I have a problem with the distance between projector and screen ie I can not get any closer than 3.6mtrs to a 8 ft screen so after running the Barco throw ratio program and manually setting up the PJ on the floor the raster area is reduced to 9cm so I am wondering what this will do to the picture quality.

It's a quick 'n dirty calculation I know, but a 2.5 cm difference on a max 11 cm raster = approx 20%

Reorganise the room! It'll bug you and could be ruining your resale value (if indeed CRTs are worth anything at all in 3 years!)

Or move the screen closer to the projector.

This is often easier. If it's a fixed screen on a wall, just add some wood blocks or something to the 4 corners and have the screen sit out a bit.
