? You mean when a disc is loaded, if so make sure its not a copied disc as sounds like your machine is attempting to read a disc.

Hi Justin, no disc in the tray.problem occured when i tried to change dvd to multi-region. followed a thread that told the following:
1. press 159 play on dvd remote.should get the following(which i did)----------- insert the following number 0207000000000 and play. when i finished doing this the unit was sopposed to switch off and then on again, and i was to carry out the rest of the process. unfortunately its just chirping (as you said as though it is trying to read a disc).
My next problem is that no matter what i do i can not get the unit back to its original settings.
Would appreciate any ideas/tips

cheers in anticipation
H
