Will Progressive Scan Cure my Sync Problems?

Hello!

My Local cheapo catalogue outlet has a big stack of Philips DVP-3005 DVD players at £30.

When I play a DVD on my Samsung HDTV, on a Philips 720HDRW, the audio from my amp is .10 of a second earlier than the image, causing lip sync issues.

I understand this is caused by the TV needing time to downscale the image.

Can anyone advise me if buying one of these 3005's, and setting it to progressive scan, using the 3 component cables would cure my sync problem?

Thank you!

No it will not but you can now buy a box that will build a variable delay into the sound.
This costs about £150.Struggling to google it at present .Anybody else remind me of the name?
