Hi All, I tried searching for reviews of the nuvi 300 but found very little, do I've taken a gamble and ordered it anyway :god:

take a look here: http://www.garmin.com/products/nuvi/

After reading what it can do I just had to get one!

Portable/in car GPS navigator.

Travel guide, for language etc.

Image viewer.

Speed camera locator (with free download)

MP3 player!

and other stuff!!

I just hope it's as good as it looks, I'm also getting a 2GB SD card for mp3's (which can be dragged and dropped from a pc) and a car cassette adapter so that I can use it as in in car mp3 player as well :smashin:

Although not cheap, approx £330, it's like having satnav, phrasebook, speed camera locator and ipod (nearly) all in one tiny device.

I will review it here after I get it to help any other people thinking of buying one ;)

Are you required to purchase the maps? ''
nüvi 300
This unit is sold exclusively in Europe. (Contact your Garmin European distributor for pricing.) Customers can purchase one of eight regional coverage areas''.

The langauge guide and travel guide appear to be optional extras. Do you have to pay for the speedcam updates?

Hi Lynx, I've had time to tinker with this now and have written a review here:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2243167&postcount=22

The nuvi 300 comes preloaded with maps of europe, as for the language and travel guides, yes they do need to be purchased seperately, there is a demo of each included with the nuvi.

The speed camera database is available for free from here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php

There is a free program also available to load the POI's (points of interest) which in this case is speed cameras, onto the nuvi. The database is updated monthly!

This is a fairly good review from a very tomtom biased website

Nuvi really is the bees Knees, go for a 350 over a 300, it's worth it.
