Generally when u take out a contract you get a credit limit, mine has always been £100 then after a few months raised to £250 but from what I remember Line rental and bolt ons do not count as part of the limit and also from the first contract I had, 7 years ago, the limit was only for calls, it was quite easy to go over the limit with txts, everytime I have had my limit increased the letter/txt has always said If i wish to revert to the standart limit just to give CS a call, I presume that can put on a lower limit than what they first suggest if u ask them

O2 certanlly do a mate worked in a phone shop and got a contract phone for his sister and capped it at £50 a month, i would have thought most companies would do this.

I am not aware of any cap on my orange contract.

And I am aware of a friends daughter running up a £530 bill one month on her phone given to her as a present for 'emergency use' - something to do with a new boyfriend. lol. This was O2
