Looks very promising and the 1080p version actually plays on my PC, mind you not super smooth like the 720p version

nice! I was afraid the loss of Singer, and the introduction of Vinnie might be a problem, but that trailer rocked harder than Slash from Guns and Roses!

This is actually an "announcement" trailer!! To let you know the movie is on the way.

Looks good, wasn't too sure about The Beast though, looked a bit rubbery!

I've had this question for ages....

The trailer looks bloody amazing, but my problem is that while it plays smoothly, it has evident tearing on horizontal movements. I'm watching the 720p version.

I have a fairly new card (a NV35 with 256MB ram) on a fairly powerful system (A64-3200 and 1GB Ram) so it should just play perfectly. I have tried changing drivers many times but i can't seem to get rid of the tearing. It also happens on non-HD material, though much less.

Anyone can help??

Again, X3 looks like a bloody knockout.

The hidef trailers are still working here. Ive just downloaded the 720p version to my HD.

The tearing is caused because the video is 24frame stuff, so youll need to set your monitors refresh rate to a multiple of that (48, 72 etc) to prevent tearing. What monitor are you viewing the material on Dan?

Is that it?? Can't believe it would be so easy (and that i never thought about it), but i'll try that tonight...
Then again, after i change that, it will tear with things that aren't 24fps, right? And i watch a lot of things that run at 30fps... most TV shows and stuff...errr...

EDIT: Actually now that i think about it i think it's already set to 72Hz...

Pretty good explanation here http://www.intel.com/cd/ids/develope...9118.htm?prn=Y

A multiple of 24 should be OK, but then with PCs anything can happen!

edit: could be a quicktime problem?

Heh could very well be a quicktime problem. Another problem i have is that sometimes they play just fine (but with tearing) and sometimes the videos will play for 2 seconds than the whole thing turns green and eats up so much CPU time that it becomes slow to even close the damn thing. And after that happens, i can't watch it anymore until i restart my system. Happens mainly with Quicktime, and rarely with other videos.
