Wolfmother - You must listen to this album.
Hi all.
Just found an Australian band called Wolfmother, bought the debut album which is absolutely amazing, stunning in fact.
If you like bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Ian Gillan, 1970's Whitesnake, Marc Bolan et al you simply must hear this album. It has blown me away and I urge fellow avforum'ers to try and get hold of this album, whether via i-tunes, the net, shop, whatever!
It has a retro feel, with amazing guitar, vocals and a lovely hammond organ, though it is in no way contrived. One of the most refreshing listens for some time.

I can honestly say that you would not be disapointed with this record
Pete.

Hmmmm I heard about these guys and checked out a few of their tunes here:
http://www.myspace.com/wolfmother
...however, I'd personally rather listen to the real thing (Led Zep, Deep Purple) than a band impersonating the 70's legends. Still, it's decent stuff and a cut above most of the nonsense out at the moment, so fair play

Fair comment. It is still a great listen however. A bit of Black Sabbath in there too!
Perhaps it just reminds me of the good old days eh? I do love a hammond organ.
Pete.

I bought this at the weekend and think it's great.
I did miss out on the earlier rock legends though by being born too late.

Listening to Zane Lowe on Radio 1 last night (an excellent show well worth tuning in for BTW) and he said that the Wolfmother album was due out at the end of April too. What's going on here? My version wasn't marked as an import or anything.
Still a cracking album getting lots of stereo time from me.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Pete for giving us the heads up on this album - I downloaded it at the weekend and I think it's a cracker.
Good work fella
