Setting up my first IDTV

Hi all

My Panny 28" IDTV is being delivered courtesy of John Lewis's on Saturday, and just need a bit of advice.

I know TVs pretty well set themselves up nowadays, but I am unsure as to whether the digital channels will download - i.e. will the signal be strong enough?

I take it that when you switch a TV on for the very first time it goes into auto setup.

1. Do the digital channels download FIRST followed by analogue followed by digital radio?
2. Am I right they start at 901 (for BBC1), then 902 and so on?
3. Is there a current list of Freeview channels AND their corresponding numbers anywhere on the web?
3. If my signal is not strong enough, and thus the digital channels don't tune, will the TV indicate this DURING SETUP?
4. With standard IDTVs, how many channels will tune? The freeview website currently shows the 5 terrestrial channels, 36 digital channels and 24 radio. Will I receive all of these or are their limitations depending on location?

Grateful for any help.

At first switch-on, both the analogue and digital tuners begin searching at the same time. You will probably only notice the digital results because they take longer and contain more information.

When completed, the analogue and digital channels will be stored in different memory areas. To toggle between digital and analogue channel memories, press the Digital/Analogue button on the remote. This means that the analogue and digital programmes are not mixed; both start at programme 1 and end at 5 and 7** (or whatever) repsectively.

Which channels you receive depends on your location and TV aerial. If your set doesn't tune all the digital channels, you can do a sepatate digital tuning scan without "reinstalling" the set. Extra analogue channels can be entered using manual tuning.
