Please help with DIY screen build

I am about to build a fixed 16-9 screen using the material from a ikea tuppular blackout blind I have lying around but I have a few questions i would be most happy for comments on,

1) The screen will be 150cm wide - how deep will this need to be for 16-9 ?

2) I plan to make a frame with 1 inch wood battons and staple the fabric to it, has anyone done this ? did they get good results ?

3) I will want a black border and planned on finding some black fabric to glue to the screen, good idea ?? better suggestions wellcomed

any help greatly recieved

1x1 is a bit thin really...
try 1x2 (with the 2inch touching the screen) as this won't bend as easily when you stretch the fabric..

Nexnix.co.uk do a flock tape, that you can just stick on. I'm going to be giving it a try next week when I build my own screen.
