From the DVD I would imagine the best setting would be YPbPR as DVDs are natively encoded in component video.

Though it'll be YCbCr if it is via HDMI. (PrPb is analogue component, CrCb is digital component)
I think some displays only cope with RGB (probably the PC legacy ones connected via DVI)

It'll be down to the difference in the transcoding performance between the player and the display.
It'll be worth experimenting, but I doubt you will notice the difference, it's a rather subtle one.

Also, if the player is outputting an HD upconvert of the SD YCrCb it may be worth taking the RGB output, especially if the HD YCrCb output is 4:2:2 not 4:4:4, as you would then avoid a second chroma sub-sample?

I was unsure of this , and spent quite a time reading about the differences, mainly on american forums !
anyways
YCBCR unless you get distortions to the colour this may appear as smearing or something !!, if so switch to RGB
I have not seen any distortion myself, but kid myself that the YCBCR output looks more natural !! err I think.

Thanks for all the replys,
Still playing around with the output but YCBCR looks like a slightly sharper picture to my eyes, but will keep on playing with it,
Rich, you are right YCBCR does look a bit more natural but there is not much in it,
Must find some time and watch more DVDS,
