I want a 20-23" Can anyone offer advice

Hi guys, i'm looking to get one of the Samsung LE23R41/51B - i've seen them on the XBOX 360 pods...they look sexy as hell.

Now i've only ever seen the non-HDTV version, which they're selling in Selfridges at the moment, it's the R41 model, which is without HDTV. I've only ever seen the US model number - but i want to buy it within the UK obvisouly.

I've checked a lot of sites and they don't seem to list the HDTV version in 23". I've got a budget of about 600 pounds i'd say, possibly more depending if i can stretch.

This is mainly for Gaming and DVD's really - my 15" CRT is the pits!

Can someone lend me there expertise on this sized screen.

Thanks
Tom

It is an HDTV, the only reason it's not badged as HD ready is because it lacks either an HDMI or DVI input, it will give you high definition on a 360

Ok, i checked the model number behind the screen the other day and it stated that it was the R51 model, not the R41 model - which is why i asked. All the specs i've looked at don't specify a HDMI or DVi input at all.

Though, also for the price the 27" version is very appealing (Samsung 27" LE27T51BX LCD TV)

I've been looking at this one also 23PF5320 23"

The major difference between the 51 and 41 is purely cosmetic - the 51 has the extra bit of black fascia (the inverted triangle of extra plastic at the bottom of the screen). This is model that Samsung agreed to exclusively sell through the Dixons Group. The 41 model is the same set otherwise. The only thing to look for is the extra "D" at the end of the model number, which indicates that a digital tuner is fitted (Freeview).

You're confusing the issue here a little. The 27" model is a new one, not the same as the 26" models that we were discussing.

Samsung are in the process of switching over to two new model lines - the 'M' Series, which are the premium models with all the bells-and-whistles and the 'T' Series, which are more basic with lower feature levels. As far as I'm aware, the T series model you quote is HD Ready, as has DVI + HDCP and the correct resolution support. Shouldn't be any probs taking HD via component on this set, so fine for the 360. I seem to remember that the colour processing on this new set may not be as good as on the previous R41/51 models (which was advertised as 10 bit, but no such claim on the new models, as yet). Whether this makes enough difference is something that would need a demo to establish.
