Nokia N80 - Anyone looking forward to it?
I've just come across the specs of the Nokia N80 and on paper it looks like a great little phone: 3G; 3MP camera; wifi enabled; 352 x 416 screen; bluetooth; EDGE support etc. etc.
I was going to go for the N70 but may wait for this one now, it's due for release in Q1 next year.

4 years! You have a lot of patience! I can't get by 6 months without looking forward to my next phone, currently have a SE D750i.

I need a decent sturdy phone as I am out on site alot. So if I drop it I dont want it to smash into a thousand pieces. The 8910i I have has titanium casing and has taken alot of abuse with no problems all this time. Phones these days seem to be very cheap and plastic.
I wouldnt upgrade till I find something worthy of replacing it.

I agree with you 100% there. Part of the reason I have to change my phone so often is due to software bugs. I swear they only make them with a 12 month lifespan in mind.

Probably very true.
Actually you may be able to recommend me a handset. But it must be able to send and receive emails using my everday email account - dont know if this is possible (Ive been out of the loop for 4 years!) Not bothered how big the phone is either as long as dropping it on a floor wont destroy it.

It may worth looking at the SE 990i, although it's not out yet.

I heard this will be released towards the end of Q1, was hoping it'd be sooner rather than later!

The FCC (an organisation that manufacturers have to submit their devices to for safety approval) reckon that the N80 will be shipping on the 21st January. Given that date, I reckon it'll be released by operators around the end of February.

I used on of these on a Nokia product day, it was ok, bit wide for my tastes.
Not sure the fact that it can do EDGE matters much, unless you spend time out of the country!

wider than a V3 ? how was the slide movement on the N80? was it smooth like a d500/600 or crap like the siemens ?
theres one thing i have noticed of late is how poor the nokia screens are compared to the SE`s smasungs etc, hopefully this new top end range of nokia will be a step up.
