Loewe Vitros & xbox360

What would be better 640x480/848x480 vga or widescreen pal/576 component. Got a Loewe Vitros 32" crt with the vga module and component in. What would be the better choice for the xbox360, When playing pal games/dvd's ?

Does the Loewe support PAL progressive scan via its component inputs? I'd be very interested in this television if it does... Cant stand the picture quality of LCD's!!!!

No it does not support progressive scan via component only interlaced, but i do get 848/480p or 640/480p via the optional vga module when connected to a pc. hence my question will a vga input of 480p be better than a component input of 576i? and will i get the xbox360 to sync at all vit the vga card?

I have the 360 connected via the VGA card on a Loewe Aconda (Q2550 chassis) and am running 848/480p (I believe 640x480p at widescreen is the same) - Although I am able to get 1080i via a PC running Powerstrip - the 360 doesnt sync at this res - bummer.... I still reckon that 480P would be better than 576i because of the progressive scanning... I am right in assuming that the equivalent in interlaced is double the lines (ie 960 lines??)? Anyway - games look great in 480P on the telly - just wish I could watch TV (MCE2005 extender is awesome!) at a higher res!

by the way I have put in support emails to Loewe and Microsoft on whether it is possible to:
From Loewe: adjust the frequency input on the VGA card.
From MS: adjust the frequency input as Powerstrip does.
If I can do either of the above I am sure I will get 1080i on the 360... I am probably just dreaming though.....
