MCE laptop setup
Evening,
Just thought I would say thanks for the excellent articles on MCE in this section of the forum. I have just finished setting up my first MCE and it's gone quite well. There are a few things to tidy up but it is certainly getting there. Recently work provided me with a Dell D410 laptop complete with docking station that now has a second partition installed and MCE put on. The docking station sits with the rest of the AV stuff in the cabinet connected up via S-video and SPDIF into the TV and surround sound system. As I do have to use the laptop on the go I simply undock it leaving the cabling mess intact and head off to work. Upon returning simply dock it again and boot into MCE. Works a treat ![]() Currently I’m streaming all media over a wireless LAN from a server but it can sometimes cause playback stutter so I have ordered Gigabyte Ethernet and will route a cable to the docking station. Can’t believe how cheap you can do gigabyte Ethernet nowadays but that’s another subject. Cheers all |
