HTPC- Set-up

Anyone in or around Brighton that wants to set up my HTPC.

I have no patience for this software lark, and feel like giving up already.

If your getting bored already and you haven't even installed the software yet i would give up now!! You are going to have many months of banging your head against a brick wall and installing, un-installing and re-installing before your happy with the system

Not to discourage you of course

Well after getting media centre up and running, i could not get the onboard audio to work, then i tried re-installing the operating system just in case some drivers were corrupt.

Half way through i had a blue screen physical memory dump.

Now it is saying that there is a disc boot failure and no Hard drive present.

Oh - not so good!

Try running the pc with the sides off to minimise overheating, and trying different hard drive/memory.

good luck

It the BSOD happened during the installation of XP...Then vey simply it has not done the setup yet...Just switch off the machine, ensure that everything is fully in its sockets and run setup again....Nothing serious there...
