Which All In One?
Hi All
I'm in need of some help, with Xmas soon approaching I'm looking to buy my father in-law a cheap (£100~£200) surround sound setup but have no idea whats available.
The thing is I'm looking for a speakers and amp/reciever only system and all the ones I've seen have amp/receiver/dvd player systems. The father in-law already has a dvd player so I'd like to avoid doubling up.
Can anyone point me in the right direction??
Cheers
Ryan

I think there are plenty of all in ones to fit that budget,
The Tatung THT5105S was well recieved in what HiFi.
The cheapest Sony DAV systems can be had for about £140 ish.

Ah but both of those you've mentioned include DVD players and I don't want one with a built in player of any kind, just a speaker package and receiver/amp?
Any ideas
Cheers

Yamaha AV57 package is well rated, but might be a little over budget.
£230, I think.

Rscott,
Probably mate, but it's the only one I'd recommend.
I have a 557 Yam and for the dough, it's ace.
The 357 in that set isn't far behind, I believe.
The other option may be to buy an all in one and stick the DVD in your bedroom.
I'm sure they don't need the DVD player, to work correctly (but I may be wrong).
Isn't your F-I-L worth it??
It's always good to keep in his good books, IMO.
I know what you mean though, bloody expensive pressie.
How do you fancy marrying my daughter????
I'll be lucky if I get a card off my S-I-L
Good luck on your mission mate and let us know what you get in the end

Listed as out of stock... bugger, otherwise perfect.
They do have the Sony HTDDW670 for £148.00 and in stock, does anyone have any experience of this one??
