With no disc loaded, press 0 five times;
Press Repeat;
Press 3, 8, 7, 6, 7;
Current region code (2) appears in the top left-hand side of screen;
Press 9 (which will change that 2 to a 9);
Press Open followed by Close;

hope this helps all you DVD-R125 owners out there

Thanks Ashdel, just bought one of these 3 days ago from Tesco, fantastic PQ on my Hitachi 6600 plasma. Only one question mate, I cannot get the DVD-R125 to output 1080i over HDMI to my plasma (plasma accepts this res according to manual). Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible with SD DVDs? The unit also seems to upscale my SKY picture to 720 when connected to AV2 of the DVD-R125 which is something I did not expect, however the PQ is not that much better as I expect the SKY broadcast is of low quality anyway (you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear).

Hi vince31

I've got no problem with my Samsung and Hitachi 32LD7200, I just open the menu on the samsung select setup then HDMI/DVI Resolution and select 1080i by pressing OK and making sure 1080i is ticked and bob your uncle job done.

Sorry i can't be of more help

When I open up the setup menu and go to the HDMI/DVI Resolution selection the 1080i selection is grayed out with a no entry sign so I cant select or tick it.

I have a r125 and Panny PV500 - I am able to set it up using 720 or 1080, but to be honest it makes no diference anyway. Plus I have no 1080 content - so I left it on 720. To be honest again, don't see much diff in pq from my old dvd player (still looks great don't get me wrong). By the way, speaking of the set up, should I use Component, or RGB ( I am using component at the moe, and I am connected using HDMI. Thanks for the hack, I just ordered a HD DVD (matrix) from the states, so this should be about as good as it gets for me until I can order Sky HD ( I am in Ireland, no sign yet).
