Switch Front and Rear speakers round

Hello,

Please forgive my stupidity, but when it comes to anything Audio I am how we say dumb,,,, And I have searched this site but cant find an answer.
I have just bought a JVC TH-S33. It comes with 2 tallboy speakers and 2 satelites. The tallboy have the short cable (To place at the front) and the small speakers have the long cable. Ideally I would like the tall speakers at the rear. Its not possible to remove the cable from the speaker. So:
1) Is it wise/ok to switch the speaker position (They are the same Watt and all
2) How would I do it as the cable is too short on the tall speakers.

Please help me learn..

if the wire has no specific connections at the end, you can just extend it, if it has got specific connections you would need to cut it to extend and then reconnect the connector . this may invalidate your warranty thought ( the cutting the connector option)

if they are the same wattage then it shouldnt be any problem. where you place them front or back , sometimes the front speakers have more drivers (actual speakers ) or can go to a higher wattage as they used most. but this may not be the case with you

shahedz, Thanks very much for your reply, I appreciate it, at the end of the cables is just the bare wire to feed into the springy clip bit, Thanks for your input I greatly appreciate it.

no problem at all mate

your lucky its the bare wire , you can get any normal speaker cable and literally just extend it then!

best of luck

Black shrink tubing makes the job even more professional looking. Make sure the wires are properly crimpled/twistled together and then seal em up with some of that and a hair dryer!
