Question XBOX Console and Multiregion

Hi all

This is a question for those that already have an XBOX.
http://www.xbox.com/

I'd like to know is there anyway of playing dvd's from different
regions, mainly 1 and 2.

The PS2 has 2 methods... the techtronics fix(£100) and a card that goes into the memory slot (£15). Is there anything similar for the XBOX?

The XBOX is released here in UK in March..and I'd like to know
what options are open to me.

I attended the show recently in Convent garden and I was quite
impressed. Apart from the system crashing a few times!

Cya,
Shaz

No one will know for sure until the UK release of the Xbox.

But the US DVD Movie option is enabled by an addon, so it could be that you just by two addon kits, one for region 1 and one for region 2.

If not though, expect Datel to do the same they did with the PS2 and release a DVD X Multiregion Playback kit.

I can't wait for the Xbox, originaly I was going to order a US Xbox due to my impatience, but as I don't want to always have to buy US versions of the games, I am buy the UK Xbox in March (although Microsoft have left it to each game developer to decide it they want to region lock their game)

Check out Team Xbox and IGN, they also have Video's and Screenshots, plus they download a lot faster than Gamespot US (I never understood why Gamespot UK does not have Videos).

BTW: You can pre-order the Xbox with NO DEPOSIT at DABS and as a bonus they are selling it at £289.

Question freezing XBOX

Hi Anne

Have you had a chance to play with XBOX?
I went to the recent show in Covent Garden different XBOX's
crashed whilst playing different games.Total of 4 crashes in
a space of 40mins. In games like Halo\DOA3.

It was quite worrying as I liked 2 of the games a lot, DOA3\Halo.
I know friends with PS2 and they haven't encountered simlar
problems. I say PS2 as thats probably the rival machine at the
moment and the package is very charming in deed!
Price and software wise.

Have you spoken to others that own an XBOX?
What do they say? People have said it freezes when the system
overheats.

The good thing abt waiting till summer to buy the xbox is that
all those people that buy in in March will be able to witness
problems before the ones buying it in Summer!

Cya,
Shaz

Oh look at the time, its Chirtmas Day

"Merry Christmas"

Getting back to topic, There have been over a million Xbox consoles sold, if there were any issues with it we would have heard about it by now.

As with any device, there is always units with problems.
My friend had an PS2 that overheated after about half an hour and then locked up - what was strange is that Customer Services told him the PS2 can not be played in Horizontal Mode, and he must move it so that it is Upright (tall)) ??? (in the end it died and he got the Store to replace it).

Question amazon deal & green jewel

hi Anne

what do u think of this deal ? :

Amazon Deal

Did u know there was a japanese controller too :
jap controller

Also I heard from U.S Xbox owners, the look of the actuall xboxes differ eg some have the green "jewel" in the controller and box and some don't. The ones that don't are just flat mostly black with a green X in it. What have u heard abt this?
Is there anyway of guaranteeing that u get the one u want?
Here a peep at one with the "jewel"

Jewel Xbox

I'm really getting the xbox bug now!

Happy New Year

Shaz

They did change the jewel on the Xbox, but I thought it was done before they went into production (they also moved the Xbox and Microsoft Labels).

The UK Xbox will have the new Jewel Design, which I think is better.

The Amazon Bundle does look good, although I will shop around closer to the release date to see if I can get any better deals.
