Which Stereo Amp for Q7'S & Arcam C73T

Hi

As the title says.I am looking for a amp(New or Used) which will go with Q7's & Arcam.
I'd like detailed/clear sound. Listen to all sorts of music.
Budget is around £350.

Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

Well, I'd say that if you possibly can, save another £50-£100 and buy a used Rotel RA-1062. You won't buy a better-made, nicer sounding amp for the money (unless you go valve, which is not something I'd recommend if you're just starting out).

Alternatively, a Musical Fidelity X-A1, X-A2 or A3cr would do fine. The first two should be available for under £200, the A3 about £300-£350.

Lots of others worth considering, but the Rotel would be top of my list.

You could be lucky and get an Arcam A85 on E-Bay - I've watched a few, and whilst the average price is over £400, some go for less. Excellent amp.

Another one, is the Tag Mclaren 60iRv. Sounds good and is just about the most flexible amp that you can buy being able to split the pre and power stages in a number of configurations.

Well worth a look and maybe stretching your budget to get.

Good luck

How about a valve kit (WAD), if you have used a soldering iron before

Thank you all for your help. Will those suggested amps be better than Denon A1-SRA in stereo mode?

Londondecca what is WAD (Forgive my Ignorance)?

Sorry, my mistake for not being clearer. WAD www.worldaudiodesign.com sell DIY kits. An alternative could be the part built T-amps http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/tripath_amps_e.html (reviews)

Cancel or at least be careful with my recommendation for WAD http://www.worldaudiodesign.com/foru...ement.php?f=14

There is of course a huge range of Chinese amps these days which may have impacted on the WAD business. Ornec and Shanling et al are introducing some interesting and cheap equipment around your budget

Edit. I did a quick search and Edenlake seem to have a positive reputation on Zerogain and Pinkfish.

I found a quote from Zerogain where one of the contributers (whom I respect) says the moddified T-amps are giving many sub £1000 amps a hard time.
