SONY RDR-HX510 - Timer will not work after midnight !!!

I've owned the Sony RDR-HX510 DVD Recorder and Hard Drive for the past few months and I am more than happy with it .. except one problem.

If I set the timer to record from the TV onto Hard Drive after midnight it will not work .. ie. when I wake up and check it in the morning the red timer light is still on and the programme hasn't recorded.

I've only just noticed this problem as I rarely record anything at this time but over the last few weeks my wife has wanted to record House Of Tiny Tearaways at 0115hrs !!!

Anyone else have the same problem ??

I've looked through the instruction booklet that advised un-plugging the machine then plugging it back in again but that didn't work.

Many thanks, Foxy.

I've never used a Sony machine before but I know on a lot of timers you have to remember to make sure you advance a day as well as set the time for 0115, otherwise that time would have already passed by today...... if you see what I mean !

Odd one this, I have the same machine and must admit, it works fine after midnight ...

Your wife could always try and record the early edition of 'Tiny Tearaways' at 8 if you are still having problems! Having appeared on the show myself this year for a week back in the summer, I used to record the early morning editions - and hence why I know my timer works on this machine after midnight !!!!!!!

Which TV channel is the machine getting its clock signal from? Some channels aren't very good at changing the day at midnight.
The set-up should let you set a different clock channel or turn the automatic setting off, but then you may get some clock 'drift' over a period of time.
In some regions this year the BBC didn't go back to GMT from summertime until late Sunday afternoon.
