Is Harmony site weird for you?
hey guys,
when i now go to www.logitech.co.uk/harmony my ibook is going to the german page which is a tad annoying. clicking member login is fine then tis all in english.
Go to add device, tv decoder i.e. cable box and press next.
It then asks me to choose a specific input type but there's no options there to choose! can't click next to continue because it returns me to the same screen!
whats going on? is this their site being a bit funny i.e. you can't send help requests in the normal way, you try, then it fails then it gives you an email form!!
Any ideas?!?!
Cheers
Noel

Hi Noel
Is this when you first went into the software. IIRC the first thing it does is ask you to identify your devices. I think it asks you about the category e.g. TV and type first. The input stuff comes later and if the devices have been identifed correctly it should list the inputs OK.
You can change the inputs if they are wrong; but if they are wrong or missing entirely it might be a sign that the software has not identifed your device correctly or at all in the first place perhaps. Did you enter model numbers/names etc correctly? If you are getting nowhere it is sometimes simpler just to start again with new password/ID.
Sorry if I have misunderstood your problem.
NB my experience is with the 6 and 8 series but I think the 5 series software is similar unless anyone knows different.
Richard

Just had cable tv installed last weekend and I want to add my decoder box into my remote.
So i login, select add device, choose decoder box, (cable, sky, freeview) then the next screen asks me to choose the type of box but it doesnt have any options to choose! thats whats silly/wrong!
have emailed them so im sure they'll come back soon enough!
thanks tho

Did you try changing the "location" on the top right of the page? It remembers what you last had assuming you've got cookies enabled for this site. Failing that clearing the browser cache might help?
I've have an issue with the Firefox browser. If I plug the USB cable in before going to the web site it comes up with an error indicating it doesn't like the browser. I use this URL to log in though.

Hi Noel
Right; understand now. Its not a Pace cable box is it? This is from the Logitech FAQ
'The remote can control most types of devices that come with an infrared remote control. However, there are some exceptions listed below:
Bose Lifestyle 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50
Bang & Olufsen (B&O)
Pace Cable Boxes (mainly used in the UK)
Sony VisionTouch (STR-DexxxG)'
If it is a Pace that would explain your box not being listed, hope I am wrong. Dont know if this also applies to 5 series though. No doubt their email reply will clarify anyway.

no it's a scientific atlanta box,
its not that its not listed! i can't even get that far! hang on will get a screen shot!!.....there we go, should be attached to this post.
I've just clicked add decoder box, and the next step i guess would be to select either freeview, sky or cable but as you can see there's nothing there!
thought maybe it was cos i was using firefox but same thing happens in IE on multiple computers!!

Noel, I think you should try logging in from the UK site. I changed to the German site and logged in and had similar problems.

Which ISP are you using to connect to the internet ? The Harmony site may "think" that you are connecting from Germany.

All those question marks on the screenshot suggest you're using firefox (I often see this corruption myself when using firefox).
Have you tried accessing using Internet Explorer instead?

I use telewest at home, i don't have the german problem here at work! and it is www.logitech.co.uk/harmony im accessing from everywhere!!
yes it was firefox but the same prob happens in IE!
here's hoping they sort their support forms out and get back to me one the email soon!
oh and.....for any orange users they charge you for the 00800 support number cos they think it's a calling card. Thieving swine! that wasn't a pleasant surprise especially with 2 45 minute phone calls on there!!
