Sony HX510 dvd playback volume?

Hello, First post so please go easy! I have had a Sony HX510 for some months now and i am quite pleased with it, but the dvd playback volume is very quiet (low). hdd playback is "normal tv volume".eg i record a film on the hard disk and watch it ok, dub it to dvd and watch it and i have to increase the tv volume up to double to hear it, this is also the same for pre recorded dvd's.I have "tried" to understand the manual but its beyond me, it's so confusing. Does anybody else have this problem, and have you altered any sound settings?

I seem to recall a setting on my 710 which attenuates the sound - this may be switchd on in your case. Trouble is that I do not recall seeing an option between HDD and DVD.

Try system menu / audio. I think the setting you are looking for maybe "Att".

I have exactly the same problem with my Sony HX510. I have played pre-recorded DVDs on other makes of players and it is the same, so perhaps it is normal. I have adjusted the audio settings in the System Menu, but it didn't seem to make any difference. Sure would be nice to get more volume on the dubbed DVDs though!!
