All-in-one systems with DVD recorder

Hello all

After much deliberation between the following:

Sony DAV-DZ700
Denon DHT500SD
Denon DHT550SD

I have decided on the Sony. It just seems to offer more of what I am looking for (principally, wireless rear speakers).

However, I'm still not absolutely convinced. Why is it that there are so few all-in-one systems without a DVD recorder?

Is there any system out there that matches the Sony but offers a DVD recorder in the package?

Is it worth just buying the Sony and then adding on a recorder?

I'm confused!

Thanks for your reply, Obskure.

I feel a bit uncomfortable with JVC. They seem to me to produce very average gear. Can you recommend any decent quality JVC systems?

Just had a look at the JVC THR 1 and THR 3 all in one with DVD recoreder.

Can anyone tell me the difference between them (except the price, obviously ) as they seem to be identical.

Thanks,

I think it's just speaker size, THR-3 are floor-standing.

I have also THR-3 and I am very happy with it.THR1 has just smaller speakers (wall mounting), but the unit is the same.

Also have the TH-R3. Looked long & hard at the DAV-DZ700 but in the end for less money I got the TH-R3 with recording facility and multi-region (now only £375 at SS Electricals... I paid £390!).

Also what put me off the Sony was that the rear speakers needed their own power source and have to be wired to each other. So it's not really wireless eh?? ;-)

Am well happy with the TH-R3 ... it looks good and sounds great. Scenes from the Matrix just blow me away!
