Which Mini Hifi for £500?

I'm currently looking for a mini system for my lounge and am considering the following:

Denon DR101
Yamaha Pianocraft E600 (or E300)
Teac Ref 300

Would also like to run speakers in 2 other rooms via a switching box. Would also like inputs for cassette, TV and turntable. DAB is not essential as I have a Freeview box.

I was leaning towards the Yamaha E600 (good power output compared with Denon) until I was told that the sound quality when playing CD's on a DVD player was not particulary good. Is this correct? If so, would I be better with the Yamaha E300 which just has a CD player.

Would be grateful for any advice as I'm fairly new to this game!
