Does anyone have any experience with using Bluetooth headsets with Skype. I know its possible. What is the quality like and is it easy to set up? Also, can anyone recommend any headsets that work particularly well with Skype (within a budget of £50 max).

I have read good reviews about the following two Motorola Models:

Motorola HS850.
Motorola H500.

Any experiences with any of these, or recommendations for others much appreciated.

Thanks

I have used bluetooth headsets for voice chatting, e.g. YIM, Skype etc. for nearly two years now. The quality is excellent. It is flexible because you don't need to sit in front of the computer to talk.

I am using the Plantronics 3000 which I got from Argos for £20 last time.

I haven't had any experience with the motorola yet. However, I am sure that they are fine.

Hope this helps,
SV
PS. Pls remember the bluetooth radius is about 10m for those devices.

As you are talking about Skype specificaly, have you taken a look at these little gems (http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3L27&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=skype&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0). I have one and would recommend it to anyone.

Hi,

It is quite expensive. I think it is better if you buy a VOIP Gateway from Maplins for £20: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46125&doy=25m11
Then, plug in your cordless DECT phones to make phone calls via Skype, voipbuster, voipcheap etc.

Or, even better, you can purchase an AU-600 (which I posted in another thread of this section) to forward Skype-calls to mobile phones or vice versa.

Hope this helps !

Totaly agree, it's not the cheapest option :)

There are indeed many options out there and all need to be brought to the op's attention

I didn't know you could use BT with Skype. How does that work?

Set your sound input devices and output device in skype to the bluetooth ones. Simple
