Guys,

Do any of you have the music on your PC's wired into other rooms of your house - (or wireless) - What is the best way to do this? I guess I would need to be able to selct the music I want to listen too from the room and not have to go back to the room containing the PC?

Any ideas / advice ?

Cheers

There are lots of options...
Try searching for "Slim Devices Squeezebox", "Netgear MP101", "ROKU", "Philips Streamium", "Airport Express" and you should get a handle!

I use Twonkyvision's media server on an old PIII and Netgear MP101 in two rooms which I'm happy with.

I've got a Netgear MP101 - set up wirelessly - great piece of kit for the money...!
I also have a Pinnacle Showcentre - this is hard wired and connected to my TV in the living room, as it can stream video as well as music and photos.
It can be wireless, but it's quite a long way from my PC so the signal is not even present there - hence the hard wiring.....
again.... a great piece of kit for the money...
(IMHO)

Otherwise have you looked at Sonos?
I'm tempted... if only for the remote control!

MP101's are temperamental on a wireless connection.

For a similar type, the Terratec Noxon is a lot more reliable, probably best of the cheaper ones.

The Squeezebox 3 is better still, but at £229 is expensive.

i got a roku m1000 , doesnt require any software if you have itunes running ( you can download itunes for free to arrange your music in a libary)

i love it. music quality is good. looks brilliant and is simple to navigate, comes witha wireless card or you can use a RJ45 cable.
