Question Sound with PowerDVD and WinDVD

My PC:

PIII 600
256 RAM
Raedon VE Graphics
Fortisumo sound card (optical out)
Pioneer 116 DVD multiregion
Windows ME
PowerDVD Version 3
WinDVD Version 3

Why is that when ever I change chapters, fast forward or backward, in fact if I touch the mouse at all I loose audio. I have to click "Pause" and "Play" repeatidly to get it back. It's very very very annoying!!!
