set-up disc and DVDroms

Hi all,

When using set-up disc like Avia on DVD rom drives and Powerdvd XP, do you get the same result as playing the same disc on a stand alone DVD play,
tried to set up brightness and contrast using Avia and THX optimode, but was having trouble see the necessary black bars on both test.

Incorrect gamma is probably crushing down the lower intensities. You'll need to either tweak a gamma control on your overlay ( don't besurprised if you don't ave one on certain cards/drivers) alternatively I'm 90% sure the brightness control inside windvd is a gamma control in spite of the labelling: don't know about powerdvd.
