Hi,

Has any one got experience of freetalk (http://www.freetalk.co.uk)? The features and calling rates look comparable to Vonage but it is only £7 per month. The only disadvantage I can see is that it doesn’t have an emergency service but I think they are going to implement one in November.

Hi

Yes I got 'freetalk' one month ago. Had a problem phoning my local area code but that was soon corrected by support in the USA !

After that I have been really impressed...just use my normal telephone and PC can even be turned off. Call quality excellent and I have now cancelled my NTL line rental. Was paying at least £25.00 a month for rental and calls and now £0.00 for UK numbers any time of day.

Really good any questions please come back to me Mike

Has anyone considered the options open to hackers/phreakers with these new innovations. How long before your 'always on' connection is used to provide international calls at no cost for hackers. As these companies are not covered by regulatory bodies like OFCOM, what protection do we have against fraud?

Mike777, NTL in Algeria? You might want to modify your profile!

And it is not a totally fair comparison to compare 'rental plus calls' with your provider with 'calls only' from the company in question. Just a thought...
