Scottish show - some photos

There have been a few people reporting that they were disappointed with the show.
First of all, this was the first time the show was at this venue and by this organiser, and considering that, it wasn't a bad turnout.
Yes, there are shows in the UK which offer better value for money, perhaps, because there are more exhibitors. But this one was in Scotland, and for people up this end of the country, it's perhaps the only show they can visit.
I too would like to have seen more exhibitors, and the show could be 'done' in a couple of hours. But we, as a community, should support these kind of events. When most of the highstreet retailers have closed or converted their demo rooms to stock rooms for the internet, these shows will be one of the few ways to actually see, hear, touch, compare and evaluate this kit before we spend our hard-earned cash on it.
I've taken a few photos. Some didn't come out. The Pioneer room, for example, was dark and I'm not a good enough photographer to cope with those situations. So I don't have photos of all of the exhibitors.
Most regrettably I don't have any photo's of Gordon's room.
But here's what I have, starting with John Sim entering the show.

Joe's Media factory room

I had to 'fudge' this photo by overlaying the screens of a photo taken without a flash onto a photo taken with.
The screens looked lovely, with some credit going to Piers' calibration.

From The Organiser

I'm grateful for Stuarts balanced appraisal.
Shows aren't a manifestation of an organiser - they are manifestation of the trade they represent.
An organiser sells, markets, organises and fronts all the risk.
And there's the rub - it's all down to market forces how representative a show is.
It also takes several years for a show to blossom - as is shown by my other events both of which are now established and providing good value for money ie Manchester & London.
That's providing I pick the best possible venue, at the right time, in the right place and ensure as many people as possible get to know about it.
With goodwill on all sides ( organiser, sponsors, exhibitors & visitors ) a show will grow and that's good for everyone.
But we have to be patient.
There is a saying .. if show's didn't exist they would soon be invented but organisers don't grow on trees. So let's all be positive and make contributions which lead to betterment not belittlement & positiveness not pessimism.
This is a tough 'ole job which I still enjoy but like most people I do much better with a little encouragement.
Unless of course I really do let someone down in which case give me the chance to put it right.
Thank you
The Organiser
