I Pod Advice please (complete Newbie)

Im looking at getting an I-Pod, not bothered about the Nano version, the old one would suit me,2-4gb, a couple of questions though please:

Wheres the cheapest and best service place to get an I-Pod from.

Can I put Mp3 songs on the I-Pod?

Appreciate any advice on the above and any other things I should know about getting/using one.

the origional ipod is the biggest with between 10 and 60gb storage, but if you dont have this much music the ipod mini 4gb or 6gb is beter or even the 1gb shuffle for £90 new.

If you dont mind second hand there are some great deals on ebay

and yes i think you can put mp3's on it but im not sure, if you use Itunes anyway you can just rip your music into AAC format (apples own music format)

The iPod is fine with mp3's, and iTunes can be set to rip to mp3's as default.

The iPod is generally a pretty standard price across most retailers, so your best bet, as has already been mentioned, is to check out ebay for someone selling on there. You should be able to pick up a bargain now with lots of people ditching their minis in favour of nanos too, with any luck.

If you're determined to stick with retailers, you're only going to be saving a few pounds here and there.

Please though before you go out and buy an Ipod just take the time to notice that there are other players in existence.

Some other brands also even come in that "Mug me" white colour as well now.

Before the Ipod faithful pipe up I'm not slagging the Ipod just stating that there is more to portable DAP's than the Ipod
