Pioneer DV 1000

guys,

I have had the above system for about 18 months now and it has worked perfectly up until this week.

It has now developed a strange habit (fault?).

Every twenty minutes or so in use it switches itself off in the middle of a DVD playing. Not only this but when i turn it back on it has reset itself to the factory installation which is very frustrating.

This does not happen when I use the system sound to watch the TV or when i use the radio , only when a DVD is playing.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what is happening ?
