Sony NW-HD5 EQ question

Hi guys just a quick q on the EQ settings on the NW-HD5 I have read that they are only available for tracks which have been converted on ATRAC is this right are there any EQ settings even basic ones for MP3 files and if not how do the MP3 songs sound without the EQ as I will probably rip most of music in MP3

Thx
A

Correct,

Full EQ is only available with ATRAC but there is also a bore basic EQ for MP3 which gives from flat to +/- 3dB at high and low end and incremantally inbetween and it sounds just fine so don't let it put you off the HD5.

For some strange reason i find that the "basic EQ", the one that works with everything, gives me a better, stronger Bass than the same setting on the ATRAC-only EQ.... Not sure why to be honest.
