Stuart, just seen your construction and wanted to wish you all the best with the seating venture. Availability and affordability have both been missing in this country, so good luck!

i hope all gos well too

it is the one main thing that you just don't seem to be able to get off the net in the uk (or anyware in the uk for that mater)

if the price is right i can see you doing well . i for one would love a nice row of cinema seats

Enjoyed looking at the construction but i think i'll stay in my poxy dedicated room, looked like a big headache to me! You must have the patience of a saint. How long?I would've had to have it finished the day before it started. Will keep a look at the seats site until it's time to get rid
of the old setee!

I had wondered where 'that member' had gone who did the building site thing.
Then I saw he had 'transmorphed' into a moderator.

:) Moderators aren't allowed to have controversial opinions, so it's good to have an alter ego for that kind of thing.
About the cinema seats, I wanted to get the price in under £100, but the cost of producing the metalwork, woodwork, upholstery, other odds and sods plus P+P will blow that price into the wind.
The design is based on a real cinema seat but is slightly larger (for comfort), more durable and with a much nicer finish.
There is also an emphasis on portability and ease of storage.
Basically satisfying our requirements and therefore the requirements, we think, of a typical home cinema enthusiast. Maybe someone with their home cinema in their living room. Or just as easily a dedicated room.

In reply to Squids comment about getting seats here in the UK, I stumbled upon these people: (can't be far from me - their 'phone number is from the same exchange as mine).

I could make a call/pay a visit if people here are genuinly interested. They look good to me though. :O)

Gary.

I contacted them out of interest. Their prices are quite cheap but they supply cinemas so their seats are not sold singly, and are not free standing. So you couldn't store a bunch of seats into your garage and bring them out when your mates come over.
Things are looking really good as far as our project is going and we hope to make an announcement soon.

What were the prices?

If I got some, they would be permanent fixtures (I've a dedicated room).

What's the minimum number they sell?

Cheers.

Gary.
