Goodmans GHC4200PRO 5.1 system

Hi All,

Im looking at getting the following system, only retailer I can find is Argos

Goodmans GHC4200PRO

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...clickfrom=name

# 340 watt RMS total power output.
# Dolby digital 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II decoder.
# 6 inputs including digital.
# 3 x sound modes.
# Individual volume control for each channel.
# Bass volume control.
# Includes all connection leads.
# Remote control requires 2 x AAA batteries (supplied).
# Size main unit (H)106, (W)16, (D)17.5cm.
# Size sub (H)49.5, (W)26.5, (D)28.5cm.
# Size centre speaker (H)14.4, (W)38, (D)17.5cm.
# Size rear speaker (H)30, (W)16, (D)17.5cm.

I it looks great and the 340 watts should be enough. My question is, does it do DTS? It has a dolby pro logic II decoder but I cant work out if this does DTS also.

Re: Goodmans GHC4200PRO 5.1 system

I know this is a very old thread but I'm looking into the system mentioned above aswel system. It's priced at £200. Any thoughts about it?
Thanks.

Goodmans eh...at £200 there are probably better choices (e.g. Yamaha AV59 Pack) and given the two comments at:

I would steer clear!

yeh i would agree, ive had my fill with goodmans lately.
42" tv being the deal breaker.
for the money, you would be far better off with something like this:

not much more, but a far better system.
