Sony MV-700HR - any users?

Wanting 2 suitable portables / ICE to take on planes & put in the grand voyager easily - not paying >£2000 for the Chrysler 7" pop-down no matter how neat the integration. Sony seems to fit the bill? Got average review in What Hi-Fi but mainly cos of the picture. My 3 year olds don't care. I want something rugged, will last & can hook up the av-out to av-in so they can watch the same or different. Any comment or happy/sad users?

Called Sony about the optional IR headphones. In the car, will they interefere and pick up each others signals? The players emit the IR with no mention in the instructions how to change the frequency yet the Sony recommended 'phones can switch 2 channels! Anyone doing this? Sony didn't know the answer though in fairness they went out their way to try to find out. It is an unusual request. Promised to call me back - that was THursday.

Will probably purchase even if the IR is an issue provided the feedback is OK.
