Atlas - Nordost
Hiya,
Finding it tricky to get hold of these two cables from the same dealer to demo between my pre and power amp (phono to phone).
Just wondered if anyone has compaired these two before.
I would love to hear any comments as to if one has tighter kicking bass and if singing voices shine through with presence on one more than the other.
Look forward to any comments.
Cheers.

Ah ha, I was thinking of starting with maybe the
Voyager and Solar Wind,
then maybe
Voyager all Cu and Blue Heaven
if still hearing improvements the last step would be,
Titan PTFE and Red Dawn.

If you are prepared to go to Red Dawn level and can honestly hear differences along the way up the ladder then these for me are a no brainer.
Very good rhythmic quality's. Something that the Blue heaven cable below it does not even possess imo. The bass is for me the same in it's ability to punch and kick but void of the coldness and sterility the Blue dawn can conjour up.
Voices are very clear and detailed without being over emphasised like some forward sounding equipment.
Hope this helps.

Okay,
Out of the two I prefer Atlas. Nordost are in my mind good but overpriced and they didn't suit my system that well. I haven't heard the Blue heaven.
Only comparisons I've made are between Elektra/Titan (Not much between these 2) and Valhalla.
I had a Valhalla between my source and pre for a while but ended up swapping it with an Elektra. The Nordost cable was just too harsh - wouldn't think that from a £2000 interconnect would you?
Depending on your source and pre it may be worth splashing out on the all CU versions. I've found you can get away with lesser cable between pre and power. It certainly becomes harder to tell them apart atleast. I used to use (I think) voyager to link the power amps.
Incidently if you are interested in RCA Atlas cables or Nordost Valhalla feel free to PM me.

Wow £2k on an interconnect, and you prefer the £450 one I'd say that was rather lucky!! can spend the rest on something else......
I have tried a £400ish set of Chord cables and prefered the £30 cable I already had, so I guess its each to ther own ears and system.
I have found one place for Atlas not very close at all, and a local place does Nordost, so I guess a couple of cables from each would do, to try.
Do you think it may be worth calling Atlas to see if they have any demo cables, as the few shops I have found don't carry any stock - if they order it in for me I have to buy it - which I don't really want as I want to test them out first on my ears and system.
Cheers for the comments.

I'm in Woodford, not too far inside the M25 (near Junction 25/26).
