Tim, it's discrete!

From <a href="http://www.remotecentral.com" target="_blank">www.remotecentral.com</a> I got this:

"The only known way to get a discrete off for the sky box is to assign the following to a button.

Blue "Sky" Button<br />Delay 0.1<br />On/Off Toggle Button

This way, if the box is already on, the action will just turn it off. If the box is off, you will first switch it on, then switch it off."

This works for me.

what do you mean discrete? Like the same button for on and off?

He means a code that's going to have the same effect regardless of what state the box is in:

EG:

Does the Sky digibox have different codes that it understands for power control, one means "on", the other "off". No matter what state the box is in, sending a particular code will always have the desired effect.

Most "dumb" remote controls (eg ordinary digibox remote) have a single power button. Press it once to turn the equipment on, again to turn it off. The remote is sending the same code each time, the equipment just "toggles" itself between the on and off states.

Sophisticated AV equipment will have separate codes for ON/OFF etc that makes automating them a snap. If they don't, then you have to come up with a workaround, as mentioned in one of the above posts.
