I have just ordered my 2meg pronto from letsautomate and later discovered that it doesn't include the docking station. Unfortunately it costs 25 quid to ship it to me so I'm wondering whether to order the dock separately. My questions: can I link the pronto to my PC to use prontoedit etc without the dock? If so is the dock simply a battery recharger? If the dock is necessary for the PC link, and I choose not to get it, will I be able to do any fancy work on the pronto?

It is just a charger as long as you get the PC LINK leads ( which come with the remote NOT the docking station ) then you will be fine.

You will need however to download the software
