I recently went on a business trip and thought i'd make use of the Duty Free at heathrow aiming to buy a Sony PC110. I went armed with a camcorder magazine , and found that Dixons duty free price was higher that the full vat included price from some of the retailers in the magazine.
Waiting for a full shop <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> i tackled the salesman to beat the price from the magazine, he couldn't change the price, but he did include a bunch of accessories to beat the magazine price!!
I also paid for the camera using a Barclaycard, which gives you 50 days comprehensive insurance, an extra years warranty (free buy registering your purchase with them) and a 60 day price match gauranty. I have since seen the camera advertised for £200 less in a magazine, which BC will refund, and i can go and buy a firewire card!
Obviously it is best to make such a purchase, and pay off the credit card straight away to avoid uneccessary interest. The added bonuses for using the credit card are pretty hard to beat!!
