What is recommended for capturing analogue material to a computer.

Source includes about 15 L500s or L750s off my Sony SLF1UB portable.

There are a number of video capture cards available at a range of prices. I understand (tho not from personal experience) that the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon thingy is pretty good.

I've been using a Matrox Rainbow Runner for this purpose for several years now. It's obsolete, but it works just fine. I'd guess that newer stuff is better still.

I'd look for hardware MPEG2 compression. The Matrox uses a proprietary compression technique (called Matrox MJPEG) which isn't the same thing and files only work with the same card. I'd guess that MPEG2 is more of a standard and therefore more widely compatible.

Make sure you have a monster hard disk.
