I'm about to buy a plasma screen and will probably use a digibox to provide broadcast channels rather than paying for the screen's seperate tuner. Is there a digibox which outputs component video through phono or bnc connectors? As the plasma screen will accept component it would be nice to maximise the quality of the video signal for broadcasting as well as DVD.

Silver grundig has a s-video out.

Not sure if this is what you want or not?

Most of the Digital Box's can output RGB not Component, which should do the trick. The Plasma should take RGB,yes?

You can get converter Box's that convert RGB>SVHS and visa versa. Not sure about conversion to Component though.

I bet someone here knows of a Box that can be modified internally.

Many boxes exist that do s-Video (and composite) to RGB or component . Other boxes can also do RGB to component but I would advise just sticking to RGB, there is little difference in performance. Use what you currently have rather than mucking around with converter boxes. RGB can be excellent.

Be careful! My plasma accepts RGB + comp Sync inputs. My Ondig box outputs composite
video with the RGB on the SCART. The screen
can't read the sync from composite video &
the picture wouldn't lock. I had to build a
sync separator unit, which makes it work fine
now.
