Anyone got any info on improvements to DTV signal strength? I heard somewhere that they were going to double the signal strength soon. Can anyone confirm this? Any links to good info sites would be appreciated.

Regards

Steve

The Mendip Transmitter for the West country was recently increased to 5KW on each channel from 3kW on the main channels and 0.25kW on the OnDigital ones.
I have an integrated set and I now can pull in all of the channels.

Dave, how did you find that out? I get mine from Beacon Hill in Torquay and I remember looking at a site about it but I can't remember where.

I think it was on www.dtg.org.uk, (http://www.dtg.org.uk,) but it was also on the good old Teletext engineering pages.

Saw a thing on News24 today, they said the government is hoping to beat their target to switch off analogue between 2006 and 2010.

It is all about money. I would love to see analogue switched off if it meant 2 channels per MUX for BBC & ITV say 8-10 MB/sec or even better

HDTV

But no it will get sold eventually to bl**dy mobile phone companies.

BTW if you have just ONE DVB tuner of any form you will not be entitled to any free government ones.

This is why I plan to aquire 3 more boxes in the next few years. Currently I am at one box and one integrated.
