Can I get away with being a "new" customer ?

I've currently got Sky+ (which I bought outright from a retailer, as they wouldn't install me) so I have NOT previously taken advantage of the "interactive discount"

I'm moving in a months time, and quite fancy a second Sky+ box.

SO .... Can I become a new customer in my new property (it's a new build so it's not had any sky before) and take advantage of the £89 new customer offer. Then I cancel my old sub at my old address - and then use my "old" sky+ box with a multiroom sub at my new address...

OR ... should I hold off until HD+ boxes are available, and then become a "new" customer. From todays channel announcement I'm not that keen to rush to HD - I don't think the programming line up is strong enough - as I'm not interested in sports or movies. For now i could simply move my current box to my new address. If I don't plug it in to a phone line, they will be none the wiser.

ALSO ... My new address has a communal dish - but I do have sky points around the house - including 2 each in of the positions I want Sky+ at. Will the sky installer just use my pre-wired points - or will he insist on fitting his own dish/LNB.

Or am I just going to have to buy a second box. I can always sell the older one (Pace V2 with a 120G hard drive) on ebay if/when I do go for an HD box.

Can anyone offer any advice ?

You seem to be mulling over personal choices. I don't think anyone else can make your choices for you.

Having "sky points around the house" could be problematic. The Sky installer will obviously be overjoyed at not having to do any work - provided that it works - but you'll have no guarantee if things stop working.

Hmmm - I see what you mean - I kind of rambled on a bit didn't I !!

Ok - so back to my first question - will I technically be a "new" sky customer, as I haven't claimed the "interactive discount" before, and am at a new address.

Or because i've currently got Sky+ will I not be able to do this ?

As it's a different address then you'll probably get away with being a new customer as long as you don't give the same bank details as your existing subscription.

AFAIK, Sky check address and bank details to check existing customers.
