I am currently lucky in that I have a Samsung 709 which outputs in PAL50.
But my new player only does PAL60.
Are there any VCRs on the market which can record a PAL60 source?
Yes there are, but the problem is they don't say they do. I have a Sony which plays back NTSC. Just as an experiment I tried recording PAL60 ie colour system PAL but 525lines 60 fields and it worked. It did suffer from a few anomolies in the picture so I wouldn't call it high quality but it was colour and synchronised. Basically it the machines are not designed to record 525/60 but many can by virture of the playback compatibility.
You will have to try a few makes.
Checkout Thomson VCRs, some of which can record PAL, NTSC, SECAM, and maybe PAL60

I have not tried to record
in PAL 60 on my Thomson, but in NTSC mode the tapes get used up much quicker (yep I know it is because they have to record the extra fields, thought I better point it out though).
