Silver Wire Cover, rather than chasing?

Hi guys, just a quick question to see if any of you guys have done this or seen it done. Instead of chasing the wires in the wall, use a cover, like a semi-circle / half a tube or pipe and run it right down the wall in the centre of your tv!

I can imagine it won`t look to bad and will hide all your wires without busting up your walls!

One more question, when mounting an lcd do you really see a big gap between the wall and mount? if you want to do a proper job is it necessary to put up a stud wall?

I think i have seen something similar on the Plasma thread, the person in question put two of those silver half pipes down the wall, one at each end of the plasma, it did look effective. It was the thread get your plsmas out for the lads.

I have two (one for power and the other for video cables) 40mm plastic waste pipes sprayed silver running from my plasma down the wall behind my rack. Brackets are hidden out of sight. Looks great if you ask me. Can post pic if you are interested.

I did this before I buried my cables. Used plastic pipe from B&Q sprayed silver and split the pipe so i could get the cables in. As they pipes themselves weight very little I actually used blu-tack to attach them the the walls.

I have a Philips that came with just the thing you are talking about, only 1 strip about a metre long. I just got round to wall mounting the screen but didn't use the conduit in the end.
