Record Pro Logic-sound on VCR?

If I record a movie from TV which is sent in Dolby Pro Logic to my stereo VCR, will the recording the be Dolby Pro Logic, or just stereo?<br />I mean, (new) video cassette rentals are recorded in Dolby Pro Logic, so it seems logical my own recordings will also be in this format.

Short Answer: Pro Logic.

There is nothing technically different between a Stereo signal and a ProLogic one. They are both, actually, just stereo signals.

A prologic signal differs from a simple stereo one ONLY in its contents. A Prologic signal will contain audio components within the left and right channels which are specially designed (using different phasing) to be interpreted by a prologic decoder to give the required surround effects.
